Access Statement for the Wishing Well Accommodation

Introduction

Our self catering home is on two levels with bedrooms on both the ground floor and 1st floor. The main living area are situated on the 1st floor and include the kitchen dining area and living room. The stairs have no stair lift but does have a half landing. Additional but limited food preperation facilities, tables and chairs etc are included in the ground floor rooms which may assist less mobile members of the group.Showers on the ground floor are fitted with shower seats. Although the building does not have mobility access but there are no major obstructions to gain access to the ground floor of the building. We aim to provide as much imformation as possible in this statement however if you have any please do contact us and we look forward to welcoming you.

Pre-Arrival

  • We have a web site.
  • Bookings; enquires can be made by the web site, email, phone, fax or in person.
  • The local bus stops in the village 50 yards away.
  • The closest train station is Wroxham or North Walsham and are 5 miles away with taxi stands available.
  • The Local village shop is 10 yrds away and a Tesco supermarket is 2 miles away in Stalham.
  • The local church is 100 yrds away
  • The local Public house serving drinks and pub food is 200 yrds away.
  • The beach is 500 yrds away.
  • No provision for pets.
  • Arrival; Car Parking Facilities

  • There is a minimum of four off road parking spaces to the front of the Holiday home an additional on road parking.
  • The parking area has lights and is brick paved, level but with a slight slope near to the front door.
  • There are no steps from the parking area to the front door with a threshold step of maximum 100mm in height.
  • The entrance door is 760mm wide hinged on the right and with an external light that comes on automatically.
  • There are hand grips to each side of this door.
  • Paved areas to all sides of the building gives good access around to the rear french doors and garden.
  • Four car parking spaces are marked to maintain a turning area to exit the property to the highway
  • Main Entrance Hall

  • There is a small lobby inside the front door leading to the hall with 820 mm wide door hinged on the left and with a hand rail fitted on the left and the right of the door and a small threshold step of 30mm high.
  • No provision for dogs.
  • Hall, Stairs, Landing

  • Skirtings, walls and doors are white in colour.
  • There are two doors off the hall on the ground floor the first to the family rooms and is 670mm wide hinged RHS opening away and a small threshold 20mm high
  • The other ground floor door is 740 mm hinged on the LHS to the day room and a small threshold 20mm high,
  • The ground floor hall area has a ceramic tiled floor.
  • The stairs are short pile carpeted and have a half landing leading to the 1st floor landing which is also short pile carpeted and have handrails at one.
  • There is a 730 wide door to the living/dining/kitchen area and it is hinged to the LHS opening away with no threshold.
  • There is a 720 wide door to the lobby leading to the 1st floor bedrooms and bathroom and it is hinged to the RHS opening towards with no threshold.
  • Sitting room, lounges

  • Skirtings,doors and walls are white in colour.
  • The Lounge, dining area and kitchen are open plan.
  • All floors on the ground floor are ceramic tiled with some rugs
  • All 1st floor floors rooms (excluding the hall and bathroom) are laminate.

  • The dining table has 3 sides with movable padded chairs padded with no arms, and 1.8 fixed bench to one side padded with no arms.
  • Furniture is movable and is non feather.
  • Three sofas with arms are provided.
  • All Tv’s, dvd and hi fi have remote controls.
  • Self-Catering Kitchen

  • The main kitchen is on the 1st floor.
  • The water is not thermostatically controlled
  • Under worktop fridge freezer, dish washer, wine cooler and the oven and microwave in cabinet.
  • Well lit area with spotlights.
  • Wall cupboard storage.
  • Worktop height 90cm
  • Gas hob height 90cm
  • Oven door is drop down and height of lowest shelf is 40cm and can be accessed from the side.
  • Good contrast between floor ,cupboards and other surfaces.
  • Well lit with spotlights from above.
  • Laundry

  • Use of the Laundry room is available.
  • A Laundry service is available.
  • There is a step up to enter the laundry room.
  • The laundry has a standard front loading washing machine and tumble drier.
  • Standard signage provided. • Well lit area with strip lights.Bathrooms
  • The Ground floor has two showers both with shower seats and hand a grip in the shower and next to the W/C.
  • Bedrooms; Sleeping Areas

  • Skirtings,doors and walls are white in colour.
  • All floors on the ground floor are ceramic tiled with some rugs.
  • All 1st floor floors rooms (excluding the hall and bathroom) are laminate
  • The Ground floor family bedrooms has two doors a pair of french doors 1350mm wide open out wards with a step of 100mm to outside.
  • The Ground floor master bedroom has two doors a pair of french doors 1650mm wide open in to the room with a step of 100mm to the outside conservatory.
  • The door to the day room is 740mm wide with no threshold and hinged to the LHS and open into the room also.
  • The door to the day room is 690mm wide hinged to the LHS and opens into the room with no threshold.
  • 1st floor front bedroom has a 700 wide door and it is hinged to the RHS opening away with no threshold.
  • 1st floor rear bedroom has a 700 wide door and it is hinged to the LHS opening away with no threshold.
  • Rooms have Tv s with remote controls
  • Sheets , duvets covers and pillow cases are cotton.
  • Non feather duvets and pillows provided.
  • Bed movable if more space is required to one side.
  • Cordless kettles supplied
  • Fridges in some bedrooms
  • Zip and link options available in some ground floor rooms
  • Grounds and Gardens

  • There is an enclosed flat paved garden area with mature boarders and a shingle walkway unsuitable for the less able.
  • Pathways have no handrails.
  • There is a fenced off garden pond with waterfall which means children must be supervised at all times.
  • A sensory garden, interpretation boards or activities are not provided.
  • Warning signs are present with regards to the pond danger, but these are standard visual signs.
  • This are is not a play area and ball games are not allowed.
  • Two bench tables are provided.
  • Additional Information

  • No shop within the holiday home but 10 yrds away is a village store.
  • Information folder printed in size 14 font.
  • Poor mobile reception on some service providers, vodafone good.
  • Escape routes are delt with in the fire risk assessment.

    Future Plans

  • Improved contrasting colours for walls doors.
  • Install extra hand rails and replace wc seats with contrasting colours.
  • Alter garage to provide office and reception facilities during 2010.
  • There are plans to provide a walkway down to the rear garden from the living area from a new door early 2011
  • There are plans to install a small balcony and double french doors to the rear from the lounge early 2011.
  • If feedback to change the ground floor to provide two double rooms with ensuite for season 2011-2012.
